Self Publishing: The Perils of Indie

I’m sitting up late tonight… again … trying to upload the same fixed format manuscript to Createspace … again. I am on pdf version 8 and after I corrected their issues, now they have flagged every page. I’ve asked to speak to an actual person now.

The problem is that I am working with full bleed images on an unusual trim size. I have always used Createspace and typically am pleased with their quality, speed and ease. In this case, I think their system is bucking against something different than the norm.

If I can’t get it fixed by tomorrow I will have to move on to the next project and come back to it. Ah, the perils of self publishing. I’d consider getting my own press, but that would open a whole new horizon of issues, besides being expensive.

Anyone have a crew like this they’ll loan me?

Yikes! I don’t think I’d ever be able to figure out how to manage the print side of self-pubbing. But I adore ebooks. Those are all I get now (and pub). I’m saving trees! lol Good luck working out the issues.
