Welcome to Panhandle Focus

Panhandle Focus thumbI’ve been busy this week making a newspaper! This is an online only publication that will be published monthly. I’d like to thank everyone involved for all the overwhelming support—especially Shelby Leighann Moore, Loren Boyer, Amy Eye, Matt and Melissa French at Cafe Bienville, Robin Wiesneth, Nick and Rachel Miller, Gina Marini, Ryan Smith and Rachel and Paul Reese for helping me come up with the proper name.

There are so many more to thank than that though. Putting together a community publication has always been a dream of mine but it isn’t something to step into lightly. It’s a deep commitment. This week all the stars suddenly aligned and I knew it was time.

Online only, the Panhandle Focus is simply a community paper. It’s not meant to be hard news or take political stances. It’s devoted to the part of a community that defines it—the people. On these pages will be the accomplishments and achievements alongside the calls for help.

You can view the paper at panhandlefocus.com and please share, send your news items to and feel free to send feedback. What can be done better? What has been done right? We need to know.

I think having a community online news magazine is a great idea! I imagine there’ll be lots of people thrilled to see the Little League game, special events, and info about community members on the pages! Good luck!
