Panhandle Focus: Growing on

The Panhandle Focus has had some additions since it went live on Aug. 1. We now have a physical address where things can be dropped off.

in Niceville has graciously offered to let us keep a tray there to accept printed submissions. You can find them at 314 Bayshore Dr, Niceville, and their address has been added to this month’s issue.

Stop by, say hi and drop off all your calendar items, photos and news. You can also email them to .

There were a few minor tweaks as well. One was my letter on page 6. It was written at 1:30 a.m. after a day of work and intensive layout on a tiny screen. My eyes were blurry and I could barely think. I think that warrants me a redo. Especially since it contained this paragraph:

We invite you to partner with us and share the Focus by sharing the link and by printing and sharing with anyone who would enjoy positive news about the communities we share.

There’s more talk about sharing in that paragraph than a whole episode of Sesame Street! So that is now gone as well as a typo in the business spotlight on page 2. But seriously, the idea I was trying to communicate was we want you to share. Share the link, print and share, share on Facebook… more people reading the Focus means more people contributing their news. That means a better Focus.

While things are looking good for the first issue, next month’s Focus is already shaping up to be a a stellar read with stories on the local fashion scene, theater, the Niceville Farmer’s Market, what’s happening in the local art world… it’s busy over here in the Focus and we have you to thank.

The support from readers has exceeded what I ever imagined and I will do my best to make the Focus worthy of such support. There is an excellent team gathering behind it writing stories, helping with the administration tasks and doing art. I can’t wait to see what September brings.
