Celebrate Surviving, Slimming & Salomon

It’s Friday, which means it’s time for a Celebrate the Small Things post. I’ve had my head down at work trying to learn to be a graphic artist in a month. The first two deadlines went by with me in tears (really!)  from stress. I’m getting the hang of it now and things are going smoother. So, my first thing to celebrate is…

1. I’m still standing! It’s been a month of ravaging horror but I have survived, and I’m coming out of it with new skills. I’ve also learned to not take things so seriously.

Fed Up2. I’ve lost almost 15 pounds in a month, simply from giving up sugar. I started by taking Slim and Sassy Essential Oil Blend. Within a day I lost all sugar cravings and no artificial sweeteners either. I’ve lost an average of 5 pounds a week except for the week where I ate a small piece of cake to be polite. Watching the movie Fed Up (on Netflix) is what got me started.

stokerawardnom-lg-300x3113. The talented Peter Adam Salomon (and a Bram Stoker nominee!!!) generously offered to beta read my latest project. His critiques are helping to shape what I thought was a decent story into something I think will be fantastic. Called The Braid, I don’t know where I’ll release it yet. Salomon’s guidance is amazing—he’s pointing things out that I never noticed in my writing. I’m looking forward to moving up to the next level as a writer.

Celebrate blog hopToday’s post is part of the Celebrate the Small Things Blog Hop hosted by Lexa Cain, L.G. Keltner at Writing Off The Edge and Katie at TheCyborgMom. To be part of this blog hop, all you have to do is put your name on the linky list and then post every Friday about something you’re grateful  for that week.  It can be about writing or family or school or general life. (Originated by VikLit)

Good job on the sugar thing! I’ve been doing a mostly Paleo diet since January and I feel great. I have not given up wine and chocolate – life must be worth living, right?

I’m sorry your work has been so stressful, but it’s awesome that you’ve not only survived, but come out the victor! Soon you’ll be an awesome graphic artist! Congrats on losing so much weight and even bigger congrats on getting such a high profile and helpful CP! His All Those Broken Angels has such a cool premise. Have a great weekend!

Congrats on giving up sugar. Being horrible about it myself, it would be difficult. And after some hard times, sometimes it’s nice to think you’ve made it out alive.
