Before I introduce today’s author, I have to tell the tale of how we met and became friends. A few years ago I used to haunt an online site called Gather. I republished all my Dandilyon Fluff posts there back in the day because Gather paid you points you could cash in for gift cards. I met some great people there.
One day, this writer commented on one of my posts and I saw that her hometown was listed as “Fort Walton Beach.” I lived in Australia at the time but Fort Walton Beach was the last place I’d lived, so I messaged her saying so.
During the course of the conversation it somehow got stuck in my mind that this was THE Anne Sanders that had a column I had read in a local paper somewhere, and it turns out I was right.
When we moved back to the states, Mr. Smith and I moved to Fort Walton Beach. Anne and I met for a few times for coffee but we were both too busy for much more. Then I started working for The Bay Beacon, a weekly community newspaper. About a year of working at the paper, Anne got hired as our reporter.
What started out as a friendship from two sides of the planet has become a friendship at the next desk over. Anne is a genuine sweet soul, loving and thoughtful and a talented writer that puts her heart into her work. She is the author of “Behind the Stage,” and the spirit behind the blog, Helping Hearts.
