Will Write for Food

Now I really do write for food… and bowls, gift cards and carafes apparently ;p

Today was busy day – Tuesdays are deadline day for The Beacon. After work I get to be Mom Taxi, run to the Heritage Museum to take photos of their newest class of crafters (this group learned to cane chair seats) and then make dinner and blog.

Tonight I added something extra. I found a neat sounding job on YouVersion – I applied for a position as a “Content Strategist.”

“We’re looking for a versatile writer/editor who wants to change the world,” they queried on their site, and I answered with my resume ;p  Now, before rumors get to flying, I’m not leaving The Beacon, but the job sounds fun, challenging and like a new horizon as of yet unexplored. And, like anyone, I’d love some extra income doing what I love.

The caveat of the day was coming home to find a pile of boxes on the steps full of edible treats.  I used to joke that I would write for food, and now I really do.  I’ve landed a fantastic arrangement with a viral marketing company.  They send me yummy food to eat (and share with the family of course!) in exchange for writing about it.  I love both eating yummy food and writing, so it’s a win-win situation for us all.

Check out the load of goodies they have me lined up for over the next two weeks in the photo, and there’s more coming.  Good thing I have teenage boys to make sure I don’t over eat ;p
