Surviving the Day Job

Today I finally got to do something writer-y.  It was August Artwalk time so I packed my box of books and headed out.  I wasn’t as enthusiastic as usual because I was exhausted.

I started my new day job two weeks ago and this last week has been a marathon.  Five 8 hour shifts back to back on an open/close rotation.  That means I working until 9 pm at night and then biking an hour home to wake up at 3:30 am to bike 5 miles to work my 8 hours and then head back 5 miles by bike home.  Needless to say I’ve been tired.

Despite this, my other projects have been surviving and continuing to grow.  The anthology is heading to a panel of five wonderful judges, each familiar with the process of writing in a personal way.  I hope to have a Meet the Judges post up for you by Monday.

A New Fan – Thanks ‘Service’ Mike!

Now that I have been made aware of the importance of Amazon reviews I’ve been able to gather a few more for both books.  I made an appearance at Artwalk today and even made a new fan.  Service Mike befriended us and took a book.  I left him sitting on the sidewalk reading by street light.

Fortunately my marathon work week will not be the norm.  I’ll be glad to get the big paycheck but the week went by in a daze of peddling, working and trying to snatch all too brief moments of sleep.

Thank you for sticking by Dandilyon Fluff as I struggled to readjust.  I plan on filling all those empty post spots retroactively as I catch up so I’ll be posting a lot of yesterday’s news ;p  Don’t worry, I have plenty of fresh news also as I get back into the daily posting schedule.  It feels good to be back.
