Today I was thrilled to be the lucky recipient of an award presented by the MWGA to recognize my contributions to the Second Life publishing industry. If you thought this virtual world was all fun and games you’ve underestimated a powerful tool.
I used Second Life as a major part of my End of Mae marketing strategy. Organizations like MWGA allowed me to easily network with media leaders. Places like Book Island helped me to connect with other writers to share resources. Publications like the SL Enquirer helped me get my story out there easily.
This is why I support the publishing industry in Second Life. It’s not because it’s a noble cause or that it makes media accesable to the masses. These things are true and more. I support writers and the like working in Second Life simply because it works. It’s a good thing that doesn’t cost a fortune. Anyone with a computer can apply it. That’s what inspired me to write No Money Marketing; to share what worked for me.
Thank you MWGA for the beautiful award and for all the hours put into making the 2012 Media Expo a success. I can’t wait to see where the next year takes us all.
