First off, my apologies for the continued delay with this post. I wound up catching some horrible flu type sickness that somehow assaulted every part of my being and has pretty much kept me down for about a week. Still recovering, but at least I don’t feel like I’m going to pass out whenever I stand up. The muscle aches have mostly subsided and all I’m really suffering from now is just stomach cramps and tiredness. That means… on with the show!
I have five wonderful professionals willing to serve as the anthology panel. They will be reading submissions and as soon as they have each given me their top choices I will be announcing the story line up. Everyone who entered is a winner for taking a chance and getting their name out there as a writer. The real winners I hope will be the additional animals that HEART Animal Rescue can help with the funds raised from this project.
It’s been a long time coming, but finally and with much joy, let me introduce you to my personal heroes: The Judges.
Karen Huff is one of those selfless and dedicated individuals that you find involved in promoting all things beautiful and standing up for the downtrodden. She has been involved with the local art scene for a number of years initiating the now infamous Fort Walton Beach Artwalks and the hysterical Zombie Walks. Karen also runs Nature First, Inc., a parrot rescue devoting endless hours to avians in need.
L.M. Smith is both an avid reader and writer. Her favorite authors include Kim Harrison and Richard Adams. She began writing stories and poetry as a child and has always been fascinated by mythology and the paranormal.
A self-proclaimed ‘desert rat’, she lives near Las Vegas, Nevada with the love of her life, their three dogs, and two cats. She is proud to be an alumna of the University of Phoenix and enjoys horseback riding, kayaking, and taking long walks with Vladimir: her Doberman Pinscher.
Her current work-in-progress is book two in a paranormal dystopian set called the Jazz Nemesis series. The Citizens, the first book in the series, is currently available on Amazon.com, BN.com, Smashwords, and at fine retailers nationwide. You can find her on her website, Facebook, Amazon or her book’s Amazon page.
Monica La Porta is an Italian who landed in Seattle several
years ago. Despite popular feelings about the Northwest weather, she finds the mist and the rain the perfect conditions to write.
Being a strong advocate of universal acceptance and against violence in any form and shape, she is also
glad to have landed precisely in Washington State. She is the author of The Ginecean Chronicles, a dystopian/science fiction series set on the planet Ginecea where women rule over a race of enslaved men and heterosexual love is considered a sin. She has published The Priest and Pax in the Land of Women, respectively book one and two in the Ginecean series and is currently editing the third, Prince of War. Stop by her blog to read about her miniatures, sculptures, paintings, and her beloved beagle, Nero. Sometimes, she also posts about her writing.

I have the most wonderful, loving and supportive wife and 5 great children. I enjoy nothing more than spending time doing damn near anything and everything with my lovely wife.I volunteer my time to coach soccer in my community and serve on a league board of directors. I have a Boxer and a German shepherd. We have a third dog, a Chihuahua, but I need to emphasize, that this dog is not mine. Take note, the Chihuahua is NOT my dog.
I am also the author of Bread of Fools. So, are you up to speed? I love my wife, I write, a lot. I have five children two dogs and the rest of the family has another dog and I coach soccer. We should be straight, now. Onward. My one pet peeve in the world is apathy. Second to that is the widespread societal disease of people simply not listening to one another. Moving from pet peeves–I feed the Chihuahua so he doesn’t count–on to favourites.
My favourite movies are Tombstone and the Matrix trilogy. I cannot possibly be expected to name a favourite book. I simply enjoy so many authors for so many different reasons, that to single out one is impossible. Talking music–I happen to think the greatest era of music occurred whilst I was in high school during the 1980’s. I was a hardcore head banger and a closet lover of maud. Budding alternative genres such as Billy Idol’s mix of punk and hard rock were enjoyed as much as Motley Crüe, Scorpions and Judas Priest. Perhaps one of my all time favourites was Boston, though I was all but alone in that at the time. Rick James actually played to a packed-out crowd in our high school gym! These days I listen to Rob Zombie, Metallica, Nightwish, Evanessence and AC/DC amongst others on my iPod.
.

wow that list is impressive!
Thanks Amy! I think the hardest part of the whole anthology has been getting the judges – a surprise to me. Thank goodness we’re back on track ;D
Great judges, I can’t wait to see their choices!
I agree! The anthology really lucked out to find this panel. I couldn’t be happier ;D
